Frequently Asked Questions

What do United Methodists believe?

As a part of the worldwide United Methodist Church family, we follow a set of Bible-based, God inspired beliefs set forth by our denomination. To learn more about our beliefs, CLICK HERE.

Where should I park? Is there handicapped parking available?

Parking is available next to the church and on the street around the church. You may also use the parking lot at Lott Insurance on Sundays (across Saline Street from the church).

What should I expect?

Our worship is mostly traditional with hymns, prayers, an uplifting or thoughtful message (sermon) from our Pastor. However, we occasionally add in different styles of service from time to time.

Do you serve Communion?

Communion is served on the first Sunday of the month and at special occasions such as holidays, baptisms, and when a new member joins the congregation. Our communion table is open to all and you do not have to be a member of our church, or a United Methodist, to participate.

What should I wear?

Our regular worship service is casual. You’ll find people in jeans and a few who dress up a little more. You’ll be welcome regardless!

Is there Sunday School?

We currently do not have a Sunday School. However, children of all ages are welcome during our service. We have activity bags for the pre-school and younger school age children if requested.

Is there Children's Church or a Nursery?

Not at this time.

Is the church available for events (i.e., weddings, funerals, etc.)?

Yes, please see the Pastor after service for details or call and leave a message at (734) 279-1118 and we’ll get back in contact with you for details.

How do I join the church?

There is a membership class that you will need to attend. Please contact Pastor Brad Luck (blucky33@icloud.com) for information.

Who We Are

Meet Our Staff/Pastor

Rev. Gunsoo Jung

Greetings with the love and grace of Jesus Christ!

I’m Gunsoo Jung. I have a wife, Gwi Jeung and three daughters and one son.

I graduated from Methodist Theological Seminary in Seoul, Korea and Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C. My major was in the Old Testament.

My pastoral mission statement is to make disciples of all people and to save unbelieving souls. To this end, I am always praying and doing my best to prepare sermons, and I am committed to caring for the people entrusted to my ministry.

I have an evangelical missionary mindset. I am an open-minded person who is proactive in everything I do, and I am committed to doing my best in my role as a pastor. I have a loving heart that recognizes all people as children of God.

I don’t think the church of the Lord is led by any pastor or any special laypersons, but instead is a place where the Lord becomes the head while we are parts of the body requiring us to work together. Therefore, I hope that all of church members and I will be able to pray together and build the church of the Lord.

I believe that God is so good all the time. He is a good God who prepares and knows what we need for us and our church. I will do my best to work with our church members in order to help grow and build our congregation and church.

Peace be with you and God bless all of us!
